How and when did you start cycling ?
I started in 2017, I injured my knee, the doctor banned me from running for several months and recommended cycling to build up my muscles and get better faster. I listened to him, I first started cycling indoors as I was not at all comfortable on a 2-wheeler. I then borrowed a VTC to bike to work and gradually get used to cycling again after 10 years without having done any.... I gradually got a taste for it and I bought my first road bike in April 2017, no doubt I had caught the virus
How have you progressed in cycling ? I started from 0 and I didn't know much about it so I went step by step at my own pace at first on my own and then I quickly made some great encounters thanks to social networks which allowed me to progressively lengthen the distance and the difficulty. I was really lucky to have been accompanied and advised. I then multiplied the weekends and holidays in the mountains to train on my favorite playgrounds which allowed me to progress well!
Do you practice competition ? Yes, I joined the ACBB Triathlon in September 2018 and practice triathlon in competition, I love linking the 3 sports, you have to learn to manage your effort by thinking about what comes next while having the feeling of giving 100%! The adrenaline is incredible, you go through all the states, it's really where I feel alive!
When you're at the end of your rope, what resources do you call upon? When I'm at the end of my training, I think about the race I'm preparing for, the finish line I dream about and when I'm at the end of my training, I think about all the hard training I've done to get to this point and it's not the time to give up .
What's your very first memory of riding a bike ? I have to be honest, I never liked biking when I was little, probably because when I was sitting in the seat at the back of my mom's bike, my feet slipped and got stuck in the spokes of the wheel. I ended up in the emergency room with a cast and had to say goodbye to my favorite golden sandals that were cut out. That's my first memory of riding a bike.
What's your best memory on the bike? My most beautiful memory is undoubtedly the end of the ascent of Alpe d'Huez during the Alpe d'Huez L triathlon in 2019, I realized that I was going to realize one of my dreams, to complete this 120km bike ride (3200m of D+) after swimming in a lake. It was the heatwave, people were outside on the terrace and sprayed me with their jugs of water. I was crying and smiling at the same time, they were cheering me on as if I was the first female, it was incredible, I still get chills
Can you tell us about your training routine? The training varies according to the season, in winter I prefer running and running again, so on the bike ride, it's an indoor training at Summit cycle with an endurance outing from 2 to 3 hours on weekends. Then with the arrival of spring, and the change of time I try to do 1 to 2 outings of 1 hour in the evening during the week alternating work of power, strength, velocity etc.. and 1 to 2 outings on the weekend where I take the opportunity to ride in a group and go D +. I also try to follow this up with a 20min to 1h run to work on the transitions!
What advice would you give a girl who wants to start cycling? Go for it! There's no age to start, I started late with a lot of apprehension but getting on the bike was a real revelation, you have to go step by step and have a lot of fun!
