Kristina comes to us straight from Poprad in Slovakia. This young mother defines herself as a realtor on bike. She shares her serenity with us through this portrait.

Can you tell us where are you come from, and where do you live now? (your age and your job if you want to)

I am 30 years old working as realtor, based in my hometown Poprad, Slovakia - perfect place for living (and even more perfect for cycling).

When did you start cycling? And what made you choose cycling over any other sport?

I have been led to sports since I was a child but it was really hard for me to find myself in one... like I wasn't really that sporty person. Cycling seemed easy to me, so I tried it. And I fell in love with it. It's not like I'm saying cycling is for everyone, but actually - it is for everyone 😊

And maybe you do another sport?

In spring and autumn I run a little with my dog, do some hiking and in winter I go to the gym. Summer is mostly for cycling, of course, but paddleboarding and kayaking is always a pleasant change after leg day.

Cycling requires a lot of time, and regular training if you want to progress, how do you organize yourself on a daily basis?

I was lucky in having a job with flexible working hours. However I do not ride according to an exact training plan, I don't even have a coach or use any training app. I just follow my inner feelings and listen to my body.

What advice would you give to a woman who wants to start cycling?

Surely give it a try, there's so much beauty to discover from the saddle. Start slowly, be persistent, take challenges, get better, enjoy it.

Do you have a place where you like to go for coffee, a cycling spot, or an inspiring place that you would like us to discover?

My favourite place to ride is definitely Liptov - the most beautiful region in our country. I never miss my coffee in Pinus restaurant - very stylish spot, love sitting on their terrace and absolutely love their homemade spaghetti. 😋

In your opinion, as a woman and a cyclist, what could be done or put in place to change the image of women's cycling?

I guess more female cyclists could start the change.

What is your (or what was) cycling dream?

Maybe you'll think I am not ambitious, however I only want cycling to stay my passion, never lose it.

Do you have a morning routine?

Yes, scrambled eggs with vegetables, coffee and The Big Bang Theory on the screen.

What does cycling mean to you?

Cycling actually is one of these things that makes sense to my life. Riding I feel totally alive. I guess it can sound weird to someone, but I said it just how it is.

Do you want to share with us something important for you, a passion, a job that you love, or anything that you want

Well, if people would listen and I would say anything, then here's my small wish - have respect, be kind, think critically, educate yourself, do sports, avoid alcohol and other drugs, live ecologically, meet inspirational people, use humor, surround yourself with beauty, spread love ❤️
