Bloody Queen® and Wild™
When technology finally adapts to women’s bodies—even during their periods
For decades, women’s cycling has been approached through adaptation.
Adapting the body. Adapting to the sensations. Adapting to the demands.
At Wilma, we’ve taken a different approach: we’ve redesigned our gear with the female body in mind—taking into account its actual physiology, including the menstrual cycle—rather than basing it on a modified male standard.
This approach gave rise to Bloody Queen®, the first integrated menstrual technology specifically designed for cycling, which is featured in all our cycling shorts as well as in our modular and scalable Wild™ system.
A physiological reality that has long been overlooked
A few figures are enough to grasp the scale of the problem:
-
On average, a woman spends 2,500 days of her life menstruating
-
70% of female athletes say they have had to reschedule or cancel a workout because of their period
-
In cycling, pressure points are concentrated on less than 8% of the body’s surface area, yet bear up to 80% of the body’s weight while seated
-
Traditional menstrual products (tampons, menstrual cups) are not designed for prolonged compression or repeated impact
The result: discomfort, chafing, leakage, inflammation… All symptoms that women have long been taught to “put up with.”

Bloody Queen®: a global innovation, designed for the saddle
Bloody Queen® is neither a traditional sanitary product nor a simple absorbent pad. It is an integrated textile technology developed specifically to meet women’s physiological needs while cycling.
What makes it unique
-
Absorbency equivalent to approximately 2 heavy-flow pads, distributed evenly
-
Multi-layer structure (absorption / wicking / quick-drying) to prevent a damp feeling
-
Breathable technical fibers, tested to minimize irritation during long rides
-
No chemicals, no odor, no compromise on performance
Each pad is designed to work under pressure, while in motion, and for several hours—where traditional solutions fall short.
Bloody Queen® lets you ride during your period without putting extra strain on your body or changing your routine.

-
approved by cyclists in areas with light to very heavy traffic
-
designed to last an estimated 3 to 5 years without any loss of performance
Machine washable, easy to care for, designed for regular use:
—innovation isn’t fragile; it’s functional.

Wild™: The System That Gives You Back Control
Because the body is always changing, we designed Wild™, a system of removable and interchangeable pads featuring Bloody Queen® technology.
Why a modular system?
-
Because needs vary depending on the cycle, duration of activity, and intensity
-
Because a single pair of cycling shorts can be used for multiple activities
-
Because freedom also means having the ability to choose
Wild™, in practice
-
Removable pad, positioned away from pressure points
-
Multi-density pad structure, optimized for long distances
-
An ultra-lightweight, compression fabric that dries extremely quickly

No more having to choose between performance and comfort.
Bloody Queen® and Wild™ allow you to keep playing all year round, without compromise.
Responsible innovation, designed with the long term in mind
By incorporating protection directly into the garment:
-
We are reducing our use of disposable products
